We have showed you some information about Gnomish Cuisine before, here is the rest of the guide, helping you farming RuneScape Gold and RuneScape Power Leveling.
This time, let’s talk about Gnome food first. Once you have acquired the necessary skills in cooking and have reached level 29 or greater, why not learn the mysteries of Gnomish baking? Aluft Gianne snr, owner of the ever popular Gianne’s restaurant upstairs in the Grand Tree, is the acknowledged master of this art. To make sure you are up to the high standards demanded by this form of cooking, you must prepare a few dishes for Aluft Gianne snr.
He will give you several food orders and provide you with the necessary ingredients to prepare them. You can use RuneScape Gold to buy food. If you make an error and prepare a dish the wrong way, further ingredients can be purchased from Hudo’s store, located just north of Gianne’s restaurant.
All the dishes are baked using Gianne dough, which is made from a secret recipe known only to Aluft Gianne. The only place to obtain Gianne dough is from Hudo. (Once you have completed your training, if you speak to Gianne snr, he will give you 100 of his special dough, in noted form, to start you on your way.)
There are two vital ingredients necessary in the preparation of several Gnomish dishes that cannot be obtained from either Hudo’s or Heckel Funch’s grocery stores. These are toads' legs and king worms.
Both can easily be obtained by visiting the swamp north-west of the Grand tree. There are a number of spots in the area where king worms and toads respawn.
To obtain toad's legs, pick up the toad, then click it in your inventory to remove the legs. The rest of the toad then leaps back into the swamp where it grows a new set of legs. (Don’t try this at home, RuneScape toads are special, allowing them to lose and regrow their legs many times a day without the slightest hint of suffering.)
To bake Gnomish dishes, in addition to your ingredients, there are three essential baking tins you require. These are a crunchy tray, a batta tin and a gnome bowl. (You will also require a knife to prepare certain ingredients.)
All of these can be purchased from Hudo (using RuneScape Money). Alternatively, you can obtain them all for free by searching the kitchen cabinet just north of Hudo.
Now that you are armed with the necessary equipment (buy equipment will cost you RuneScape Gold), it’s time to get baking.
The tables below show the ingredients required and how they need to be prepared in order to make each of the dishes. Also shown are the cooking level you need to make the dish, along with the experience points you gain for making it. Each dishes' healing effect on humans is also shown.
Gnomish cooking consists of 3 types of baked goods:
Crunchies, requiring a cooking lvl between 10 and 16.
Battas, requiring a cooking lvl between 25 and 29.
Bowls, requiring a cooking lvl between 30 and 42.
Whichever item of Gnomish food you are baking, the preparation is essentially the same.
First you must use a ball of Gianne’s dough with the baking tin that matches with the item you are making. (Crunchy tray for gnome crunchies, batta tin for gnome battas or gnomebowl mould for gnome bowls.) The 2 items combine in your inventory to make a ‘raw’ item.
Now use this 'raw' item (crunchy, batta or bowl) with the gnome cooker or range and it will turn into a 'half baked' item.
When you click on the 'half baked' item an interface will open, similar to the one for the cocktails.
Once again, if you are carrying all the ingredients to add to the 'half baked' item, it will light up. If you hover your mouse over the lit up item, the small window will show you how many of each of the necessary ingredients you are carrying. If the item is greyed out, it means you are missing some ingredients required for this stage. If you hover your mouse over one of the greyed out items, the ingredients you have will be lit up in the inner window, and the ones you are missing will be greyed out.
If you click on the lit up food item you wish to make, the ingredients will be added to your 'half baked' item, resulting in a 'half made' item (crunchy, batta or bowl).
You will also get a message telling you that you need to bake it again, and the final ingredient you must add to complete the recipe. If you miss the message or forget what you need to do, simply examine the 'half made' item to be reminded.
Once you bake the 'half made' item again, on the gnome cooker or range, it comes out of the baking tin and will appear in your inventory as an 'unfinished item' (crunchy, batta or bowl) along with the baking tray you were using.
Now you just need to use the 'unfinished item' with the final ingredient to complete the item you were baking.
